What is the Got It? Campain all about?
We are a community-wide project to make Missoula a better place to live.
We are a coalition of workers, businesses, and community organizations who recognize the importance
of health care coverage for workers, employees, and their families. We understand the reality of the
slogan: 'None of us have it, until all of us have it'. Please join us and help make this goal a reality. |
Only in the U.S. do we rely on employer provided Health Insurance
The number of uninsured people is rising
Health care costs are shifted from the uninsured to the insured
The increased cost to the insured makes health insurance unaffordable for many people
As health insurance becomes less affordable more people join the ranks of the uninsured
Uninsured workers don't seek timely medical attention
The uninsured have shorter life spans and are often sicker than the insured
Healthy people earn 10% to 30% more per year than unhealthy people
Children from insured families have better health and educational attainment
Uninsured women are significantly more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer at a later stage and to die as a result
The uninsured are significantly more likely to be diagnosed with late stage melanoma, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and cervical cancer
Uninsured heart attack victims have significantly higher in-hospital mortality than the insured
Birth weights are higher and infant mortality is lower for insured families
The uninsured are less productive resulting in negative economic impact that affects us all
